The original brief was to create artwork for a teaching series called, "Facing Giants," focused on tools and strategies to overcome major obstacles in life such as depression, grief, habits & addiction, etc. 

Beginning with the above iteration, it was deemed "too scary" so I reworked it to version two. Version two was "too futuristic," and the amended brief asked for "simpler, more traditional imagery" which resulted in the final version.
